I'm surprised Mahiru agreed to take that kind of picture knowing Amane would see it, she did look cute. It was also amusing how Itsuki took a picture of Amane's reaction and sent it to her, at least she got to see his reaction but I wonder how red she got knowing how red he was.

Mahiru's parents are terrible, you can't even really call them bad parents since they were practically not in her life to be qualified to be "parents". Hopefully Amane will spoil her so much to try and make up for the lack of affection she got as a child, we got a lot of great moments this episode, they are so intimate with each other, showing each other their vulnerable sides and yet still try to act like they don't see each other in that way. I'm glad Itsuki keeps on calling Amane out.

But then again, Amane has been struggling and has been admitting it more so we're heading in the right direction. Judging from the previews, it looks like he will have more trouble as Mahiru is the one that's going to be spoiling him next episode so I look forward to that.

The only time I say to dont bother is if they came from an abusive (verbal, physical, neglect) but in this case they financially cared for her. Just left out the social aspect of family.

It is tough growing up by yourself. Humans are naturally social creatures. Depression is linked to many factors such as isolation and loneliness. If I were in Mahiru's shoe I would keep trying. Once her parents are dead theyre gone. There can be no connection made once that boat has gone.

I hear many people try to empower themselves saying she doesnt need her parents or she can find someone who loves her but that is kind of just a sad outcome. Its probably not the worst outcome but its like 2nd to worst outcome in my opinion.

I have personally experienced life as a homeless-orphan in the past, although I was working full-time/over-time, and, was living in my car, that was something that none of my past employers during that time ever knew, nor anybody else for that matter. People have no idea how difficult it is to tell others about yourself, even when you do in fact, factually excel in both sports and academics, just like how I actually excelled with my work-performances, and, kept excellent records of it all, thus making it extremely easy to obtain a job anywhere I went, even though I was still literally homeless or what I called an Urban-Nomad back in the day.

I had to do it that way though, because of how parent-centric cultures are, always telling you to go get help from your parents, but, you just don't do that when those very same people have betrayed you before to the point of having ruined your life and entirety of your own past financial-investments that were allocated towards establishing your own self-sustaining business-system all went to waste as a result, thus, the better alternative was to simply live as an orphan than to deal with dishonest/unreasonable parents.

Well I get your point. We haven't really have seen them so we don't know their backgrounds and yes as humans live, change is always a possibility. And at least they supported her financially here but there is still something wrong and its not only the part where they didn't raise her. What's more wrong is they told her she is unwanted and from the story told I may say that they are raising her to avoid any trouble. That's what's kinda wrong. Since they have their own reputation and its clear the parents were married for business and both don't want the responsibility of raising a child(she is a mistake according to her story) in which if they divorced one has to take her in. Their solution, let her raise herself with support financially. She's just really lucky that the caretaker raised her.(it could also be the caretaker was someone her parents knew and trusted). Point here is that her mother said to her face she is unwanted and something more along the lines. Some people with her situation at this point would consider suicide. If no one interfered at some point they would do it.

I love how Itsuki's couple casually flirt in Amane's house without being reserved. But it's not like Amane can say anything when he acts like a married couple with Mahiru all the time.

Now Mahiru's backstory has been revealed and, man! It's heavy as expected. That explains a lot of why Mahiru doesn't like being alone. But, thanks to that, Amane finally said it. That was pretty much a confession no matter how hard they tried to deny it.

And now their relationship advances to the next level. Mahiru implied that she wants to be in the same class as Amane and I'm looking forward to the new semester.
